34 Pa. Code § 7.98 - Specifications of sidewalk doors
(a) In
new installations, sidewalk doors shall, when closed, be capable of sustaining
a live load of at least 300 pounds per square foot. The dimensions of any
sidewalk openings shall not exceed 5 by 7 feet except by special permission of
the Board.
(b) In existing
installations, sidewalk doors shall, when closed, be of sufficient strength to
carry the loads to which they are subjected, without dangerous
deflection.
