49 Pa. Code § 37.33a - Grandfather requirements for licensure as a professional engineer without certification as an engineer-in-training
(a)
Scope. A candidate who
began acquiring qualifying experience before February 19, 1991, may apply for
licensure as a professional engineer without being certified as an
engineer-in-training by satisfying the requirements of this section.
(b)
Qualifications. A
candidate for licensure as a professional engineer shall be of good moral
character and have had 12 years or more of progressive experience in
engineering work, at least 8 years of which must comply with the standards in
§
37.31(a)(2)
(relating to requirements for certification as an engineer-in-training and for
licensure as a professional engineer).
(c)
Examinations. A
candidate who has satisfied the requirements of subsection (b) will be licensed
as a professional engineer upon achieving a passing score on the NCEES
fundamentals of engineering examination and the NCEES principles and practice
examination in one of the branches of engineering. A candidate may not be
admitted to sit for the principles and practice of engineering examination
until achieving a passing score on the fundamentals of engineering
examination.
