S.C. Code Regs. 19-711.07 - USE OF SICK OR ANNUAL LEAVE
A. Leave
taken under this regulation may qualify for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
and, if so, will run concurrently.
B. Under guidelines established by the Budget
and Control Board, the employing agency may transfer all or any portion of the
sick leave in the pool account to the sick leave account of the leave
recipient, and all or any portion of the annual leave in the pool account to
the annual leave account of the leave recipient.
C. Upon approval of a request, an employee
may use sick or annual leave from the appropriate pool account in the same
manner and for the same purposes as if the employee had earned the leave in the
manner provided by law.
D. Sick or
annual leave earned by the leave recipient must be used before using any leave
from a leave transfer pool.
E. Sick
or annual leave transferred under this program may be substituted retroactively
for periods of leave without pay or used to liquidate indebtedness for advanced
sick leave.
