Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 1730-05-.14 - DISPENSING, OR OTHERWISE DISTRIBUTING PHARMACEUTICALS
(1) All Federal Regulations for the use of
controlled substances must be followed including storage and
recordkeeping.
(2) A record of all
euthanasia and pre-euthanasia solutions administered shall be kept.
(3) The only drugs approved by the Board for
the euthanasia of animals by a licensed veterinarian, a licensed veterinary
technician employed by and functioning under the direct supervision of a
licensed veterinarian, or a certified animal euthanasia technician in a
certified animal control agency shall be sodium pentobarbital and all
commercially available F.D.A. approved euthanasia agents containing sodium
pentobarbital. The only drugs approved by the Board for the pre-euthanasia of
animals by a certified animal euthanasia technician in a certified animal
control agency shall be acepromazine and xylazine.
