REGULATION # 1022

1. Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) A shall be open to spring turley hunting for 31 consecutive days, May 1, 2002 to May 31, 2002 by permit only as per Regulation # 1007.
2. Eighty (80) permits to take bearded turkeys only shall be issued for WMU A. Ten (10) percent of the permits shall be issued to non-resident hunters, provided that if there are insufficient non-resident applications, any undrawn permits shall be awarded to resident applicants.
3. Youth hunters who complete in and are awarded a permit in the WMU A Lottery established by Regulation # 1007 may hunt in WMU A in the two-day youth turkey season April 27-28, 2002
4. No person who has held a WMU A turkey hunting permit in any of the previous three years may apply for a turkey hunting permit in the current calendar year.
5. Complete applications must be received at the Department's main office in Waterbury either by mail federally postmarked no later than March 15, 2002 or hand delivered by 4:30 PM on March 15, 2002.
