8 Va. Admin. Code § 20-790-290 - Play areas
A. The vendor shall
ensure that all areas of the premises accessible to children are free of
obvious injury hazards.
B. A
nonclimbable barrier at least four feet high, such as a fence or impenetrable
hedge, shall surround outdoor play areas located within 30 feet of hazards
including lakes, ponds, railroad tracks, and streets with speed limits in
excess of 25 miles per hour or with heavy traffic.
C. Stationary outdoor playground equipment
shall not be installed over concrete, asphalt, or any other hard
surface.
D. Trampolines shall not
be used during the hours children are in care.
