AGENCY SUMMARY

The Charitable Gaming Board promulgates regulations concerning charitable gaming activities in the Commonwealth. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is tasked with duties and responsibilities associated with administering these regulations in order to promote the integrity of such gaming activities throughout the state. Specifically, the department issues permits to organizations wishing to conduct charitable gaming; registers bingo callers, bingo managers, and charitable gaming suppliers; provides training and technical assistance to organizations and individuals involved in charitable gaming; conducts audits of organizations and gaming suppliers to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, applicable laws and regulations, and use-of-proceeds requirements; conducts onsite inspections; investigates violations of gaming laws and regulations; and pursues regulatory action or prosecution of violators.
