Wash. Admin. Code § 110-147-1670 - What are the requirements for providing adoptive services?
(1) If you plan to
provide adoption services you must meet the requirements for a child placing
agency outlined in this chapter.
(2) You must comply with federal and state
adoption and adoption support laws and policies.
(3) You must provide adoptive applicants with
the following:
(a) Information about the
adoption process as outlined in this chapter, as well as your agency's
policies, practices and legal procedures;
(b) The needs and characteristics of children
available for adoption and the challenges and parenting practices that best
meet those needs;
(c) Information
on available adoption support programs and post-adoption services;
and
(d) Information about the
adoptive applicant's right to have legal counsel that is not associated with,
and independent of, your agency.
(4) You must document that you provided this
information to the adoptive applicant(s) in their file.
(5) You must prepare the potential adoptive
family for placement of a specific child by locating and providing information
about the child and the birth family to the prospective adoptive family
provided under federal and state statute.
(6) You must accept or deny an adoption
application and give the applicant(s) an explanation for your
decision.
