A franchiser, also spelled franchisor, is one of the parties to the franchise agreement, under which the franchisee is granted a franchise. The franchisor may be a natural person or entity.

Under the FTC’s Franchise Rule, a franchiser must make certain disclosures to a franchisee designed to inform the franchisee of their expected obligations and provide relevant information regarding the franchiser’s current and future financial condition.
