inter alia
Inter alia is a Latin phrase meaning "among other things." It is used in legal writing to indicate that the instance, point, example, item etc. being mentioned is just one of a larger group.
For example:
In Cohen v. Cowles Media Co., 501 US 663 (1991), the Court states “the court rejected respondents’ argument that the First Amendment barred the suit, and a jury awarded him, inter alia, compensatory damages.” In this case, the plaintiff was awarded compensatory damages in addition to punitive damages.
