Sec. 4.
(a) On March
31 of each calendar year, an owner or operator of production facilities in
areas of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) shall provide
notification of the existence of the well or facility associated with the
drilling, operation, or plugging of a well for oil and gas purposes to the
following:
(1) The county health department
for each county that is located within five (5) miles of the
facility.
(2) The fire department
closest to the well or facility associated with the drilling, operation, or
plugging of a well for oil and gas purposes.
(3) The chief executive for each incorporated
town or city located within five (5) miles of the well or facility associated
with the drilling, operation, or plugging of a well for oil and gas
purposes.
(b) The notice
required by this section shall include the following information:
(1) The name and 24-hour contact information
for the owner or operator.
(2) A
map showing the location of each storage tank facility within the area of
hydrogen sulfide (H2S).
(3) Notice that the area contains hydrogen
sulfide (H2S), a poisonous gas.
