Interest groups of the Institute for Equality of Men and Women, created by the Law of 16 December 2002 to monitor gender equality and to fight any form of gender-based discrimination, may bring legal action in cases of gender discrimination. The Institute is responsible for (i) guaranteeing and promoting equality between men and women, (ii) combating all forms of discrimination or inequality based on sex, and (iii) creating and implementing a proper legal framework of appropriate structures, instruments, and measures.
